Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof 2.5 L

Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® adds durable water repellency (DWR) and ultraviolet (UV) protection to inhibit the reduction of fabric tear resistance caused by UV radiation.
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® can be applied to wet or dry synthetic fabrics. It is water-based, non-aerosol, non-flammable, nonhazardous and environmentally friendly. It contains no harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and is completely fluorocarbon-free.

To most effectively benefit from the ultraviolet (UV) protection and durable water repellency (DWR) that Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® offers, it is best applied to equipment from the time it is new.
During use, the fabric of the gear collects dirt and other contaminants that prevent water from dripping onto the surface of the fabric. When this happens the DWR can be revitalised by cleaning it with Nikwax Tech Wash®.
Over time, DWR fades due to use. The DWR and UV protection can be replenished by reapplying Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof®.

• For best results always clean items first; it is not necessary to dry items before waterproofing treatment.
• Protect the work surface and lay the article to be treated clean and damp. If the article is a camping tent, set it up and moisten it.
• Spray the product evenly onto the outer fabric. Avoid backpack webbing.
• Wait 2 minutes. Remove any excess product with a damp cloth.
• Check carefully that there are no untreated spots on the fabric.
• After several minutes check and remove any excess product with a damp cloth (excess product will be visible on the fabric if not removed; test the product on a hidden area before application).

Use approximately 50 ml of product per 1m² of fabric. The quantity depends on the initial condition of the fabric.
To maintain waterproofing, always wash with Nikwax Tech Wash®.
Do not use conventional detergents. Use Nikwax Cotton Proof™ to waterproof cotton and canvas.
